Saltburn by the Sea circa 1911
Welcome to Sandbites.
We seem to be getting a lot of requests for information from users of our Saltburn by the Sea website, much of which we are unable to help with ourselves, so we've decided to start a Saltburn wiki and let anyone who can help do so.

If you can help anyone with any information or you would like some help with information yourselves please add your comments where appropriate or start a new page.

Whilst watching a BBC TV programe on the morning of 29th July Michael Barratt declared he transmitted his last Nationwide News programme from Saltburn having travelled the UK by train. The train had a specially adapted carrige painted white with the Nationwide logo on it. He also declared he spent a lot of his childhood in Saltburn yet all my searching has yet to reveal any further information of this. Barratt spent 10 years on the Nationwide news programe from 1969 so i assume the year was 1979. Can anyone shed any light on this.
